Baja Peninsula
Baja California and Baja California Sur: desert roads, Sea of Cortez towns and Pacific beaches.
Canada to Mexico by RV
Plan the journey for your vehicle, your pace and the places you want to explore. Start with a regional directory, confirm each overnight stop and keep a practical backup.
A campground listing is a starting point for planning. Our .com directories bring together recently researched entries and historical listings, each with its own status and context. A map pin or old review does not confirm that a park is operating or accessible to your rig today.
Contact the property shortly before travel. Confirm the arrival date, site availability, entrance and approach road. Save the address and directions offline, along with an earlier backup stop.
Baja California and Baja California Sur: desert roads, Sea of Cortez towns and Pacific beaches.
Sonora and the Pacific route through Sinaloa, Nayarit and Jalisco, with onward coastal connections.
Highland cities, colonial towns and inland connections. Consider elevation, weather and access for your vehicle.
Destinations along the Gulf and nearby inland stops. Research the complete corridor and each overnight destination.
Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo: cities, archaeological sites, cenotes and coastal stops.
Send the property your vehicle dimensions rather than relying on descriptions such as “large RV.” For a camper conversion, describe the vehicle clearly when asking about access and parking.
Check tires and spare, brakes, cooling system, battery and lights. Know your loaded weight, height and total length. Inspect towing equipment and confirm the supplies and tools appropriate to your setup.
Organize ownership and registration documents for every unit. Confirm the permit process for your vehicle type, immigration status and full itinerary, including any planned ferry crossing.
Describe your motorhome, tow vehicle, trailer, towed car and installed equipment accurately. Ask how each unit is treated under the policy, including when used separately.
Ask what services are available at your specific site, not simply whether the park has hookups. Check connection types and electrical service against your RV equipment. Ask which water source is suitable for drinking and where to fill or empty tanks.
Do not assume every campground has the same facilities or operating arrangements. Confirm what you need before arrival and follow the property’s instructions for waste disposal.
Choose a primary stop and a realistic earlier backup. Budget for border delays, roadworks, fuel, meals and rest. Aim to arrive in daylight with time to find the correct entrance and inspect the site.
Confirm permission before using any informal overnight location. A report that someone else stayed there does not establish permission for your visit. If your intended stop is unavailable, use a researched alternative rather than searching unfamiliar roads after dark.
Use our free printable planner for the day’s route, confirmed campground, backup location, fuel stops and contact details. Save a copy offline and share your expected arrival with someone you trust.
If you find a closure, a new contact, changed access or services, share the park name, location and date of your visit. Distinguish what you personally observed from information passed on by someone else.
